Whakahiko te ao!

Surveys

Rewiring Aotearoa represents everyday New Zealanders in the energy transition and is working to build an electrified future where every Kiwi saves money on energy bills, reduces their carbon emissions and has the resilience to keep their lights on and homes warm. At the moment, there is no comprehensive database of all the machines that might benefit from electrification. That’s what Rewiring Aotearoa is attempting to create with the surveys as part of our national Machine Count. Let’s make New Zealand more electric!

Business & Institutions Survey

This survey aims to understand the energy needs of New Zealand businesses (e.g. cafes, hotels, manufacturers) and institutions (e.g. schools, universities, hospitals). We ask about how many machines each business and institution has and their estimated usage. This is a key input to our Machine Count database, which will be a public resource that helps businesses and communities explore the potential of electrification and its barriers.

The survey should take 10-15 minutes and it can be saved and returned to later. It requires a lot of information but estimates are absolutely fine,

If the potential savings from electrification aren't enough, everyone who completes the survey will go in the draw to win:

1) A two-night trip for two to Ecoscapes at Kinloch Wilderness Retreat worth over $2,000.

2) A 7 kWh AC EV charger worth $1,100, courtesy of Panasonic New Zealand.

3) Five boxes of Electric Cherries from Forest Lodge Orchard.

Rural survey

Rewiring Aotearoa is a New Zealand charity working to speed up the transition to an ‘electrified’ future. Its work to date shows that electrification can save New Zealanders money on their energy bills, decrease emissions and give communities the resilience to keep their lights on and homes warm.

Rewiring Aotearoa and ASB are working together to explore the potential of rural electrification, barriers to electrification and how on-farm energy resilience can be improved.

This survey is a key input into this work. Your participation will be much appreciated.  The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes. It will be easiest if you have an idea of your average on-farm electricity and fuel costs, and machines on farm.

You’ll have the opportunity in the survey to opt-in to Rewiring contacting you later this year with a custom estimate of the savings we estimate you can save from starting to electrify your fossil fuel machines and installing solar and batteries.
